The performance of the residential auction market slightly dropped this weekend with a clearance rate of 67per cent compared to last weekends 70 per cent.

There were a total of 539 auction results reported of which 305 were sold, 56 were sold before auction, and the rest passed in.

We are securing more homes off the market and prior to auction more than ever. This is a sign of a nervous market. But, as more and more homes are passed in, many buyers are unfortunately duped in paying $40k, $60k, $80k and more after auction. After auction negotiations are a territory many buyers are not familiar with, and shortly after an auction, the highest bidder will be dragged into the home and pressured by the agents to pay an unrealistic reserve price.
